PRESS RELEASE
FOR EUROPEAN FLYBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
On 26th, 27th and 28th May 2007, the British Flyball Association will be hosting the 9th European Flyball Championships at Loseley Park, Guildford, Surrey. This will be the first time this event has taken place in the UK.
This tournament is expected to attract a large representation of teams from all over the UK, it is hoped also to attract teams from many European countries including Belgium, Germany, Austria, Spain and the most recent country to take up Flyball, France.
This tournament is expected to be the largest seen in the UK with places for at least 84 teams.
Flyball is a fast and fun team relay race for dogs and is one of the fastest growing dog sports in the world.
Teams are seeded in divisions and race against six or seven teams of a similar speed. Four dogs race in turn over four low jumps, collect a tennis ball from a special box, then return over the jumps. The winning team is the first to get all four dogs back with no mistakes.
It is also hoped to have TV coverage at this prestigious event.
