BREED GROUP: herding

CHARACTER: a beautiful, intelligent breed that enjoys challenging activities and almost constant companionship. excellent for use as a guide dog or therapy dog. also great for herding. gets along well with children but is shy around strangers.

CARE: excessive grooming can damage undercoat, light combing only rrequired during shedding.

ACTIVITY: requires sufficient outdoor activity

BREED GROUP: herding

CHARACTER: an energetic, lively dog that ise ager to work. extremely loyal and requires an owner who will provide plenty of exercise and games. (obedience training). can be shy around strangers, but gets on well with other dogs and children.

CARE: excessive combing can damage the undercoat, light combing only whilst shedding.

ACTIVITY: the belgian shepherd needs a sufficient amount of outdoor exercise.

BREED GROUP: herding

CHARACTER: a smart but highly sensitive dog, a devoted companion to family members, but wary around strangers. fine with children so long as they are not unruly. can be aggresive towards other dogs and animals. the breed is full of energy and smart, makes a good watch or guard dog.

CARE: needs to be brushed weekly espescially during shedding.

ACTIVITY: ample opportunities to burn up its seemless endless amounts of energy required. walks on a leash not good enough

BREED GROUP: herding

CHARACTER: a high spirited, independent, sociable dog, has a cheery nature and gets on well with children, other dogs and strangers alike.

CARE: requires a great deal of grooming, at least twice a week and parting down the back.

ACTIVITY: does not require a lot of exercise, but enjoys long walks in the country, is adaptable to city living too.learns quickly when trained with a gentle approach

CHARACTER: Extremely devoted and loyal to its owner, excellent with children and other dogs it knows. Can be shy with strangers. It is intelligent and eager to learn.
CARE: Little grooming required. a good brushing when shedding
ACTIVITY: needs plenty of exercise and keeping occupied. It is an excellent companion for an active person.

BREED GROUP: herding
CHARACTER: They are excellent farming dogs and are used throughout the world. It is loyal and hard working. Can be suspicious of strange dogs and people. it is intelligent and barks seldom.
CARE: occasional grooming is all that is required
ACTIVITY: requires lots of play and exercise. if you can not commit then this breed is not for you. It will be problematic if not given enough play.
