Bolton/Manchester - Stolen 3-legged Cat (Tiger-like coat)

Our cat, called Tiger, is an inspirational little soldier who has had a hard life - but has kept surviving major injuries and events. Disabled, and utterly adorable, he seems to have fallen victim to his unique cuteness.

Since becoming missing a fortnight ago, two reliable witnesses have come forward - reporting him as having been taken away by two drunken women.

We are deeply concerned for his welfare. He may have been taken to any area of Bolton, Salford, or Greater Manchester. Furthermore, he urgently needs his current medication.

If you live in any of these areas, could you ....

Please Help Find Him by Viewing, and Liking, His Facebook Page.

There are photos and descriptions there.  He's very recognisable, having: 3 legs (front right missing) + very small disfigured right ear + no tail + lower back fur that becomes quickly ungroomed.

Many thanks for any help here, Just.

a packet of sweets is more valuable than a family pet ...!!!

Thanks for the replies.  We haven't tried TV yet, but who we've contacted does include the 2 main Bolton newspapers and the police. Neither paper has said that they will consider the story. The police status is probably the strongest story itself.  Here is a section of what I sent to the Bolton Independent editor:

"While the police have been enormously helpful (visiting us, giving advice, and listening to us), they won't acknowledge it as a crime.    I feel that this is a warning to pet owners and a curiosity about our value system.

On one hand, accidentally taking a packet of sweets out of a supermarket can result in prosecution.  On the other hand, if your neighbour witnesses a stranger come into your street, then approaches your pet, and then walks off with the pet - this is not sufficient evidence for it to be a crime (even when the pet subsequently vanishes from the area).  Apparently, the neighbour would need to be able to follow these people and also witness them taking it home.  So, how safe is your pet? And, what does this say about our values in society?"

Trying to start a Lost & Found thread on Bolton Banter website

I am trying to start a Lost & Found Bolton Pets thread on the 'Bolton Banter' website.

Not sure, if they are going to let me do it!

Please, if you know of any lost or found pets in the Bolton area - can you add a reply to the new thread ??

I think there needs to be a quick registration first.

I would call the police to

I would call the police to see if CCTV cameras in the area could pick up who stole your cat.

Call the local news and also the national press to "sell in" the story.

If you do any of the above the chances of finding your cat will increase greatly.

This is so sad to hear. I

This is so sad to hear. I have heard of a news about a lost pet. Willow is a traveling cat. The calico was discovered in Manhattan five years after she disappeared from Colorado. Nobody knows how she wound up more than 1,600 miles from home. But the cat will soon be reunited with her family in Colorado. Source of article:  Willow the cat makes incredible journey from Colorado to Manhattan. This pet is so fortunate that a very caring person like Just Ahead adopted him. I'm hoping that your pet will still be brought back to you safe and sound.
