Hello all!
Just found this forum, registered now and saying a big hello to you all out there!
Just rehomed Flute, the dog in my avatar, the Dog's Trust have been looking after her until last week when she came home with me. Happy day!
She is a collie cross and is 3 or 4 years old. Not very much is known about her history, she's a little timid but very well behaved.
Flute loves her tennis ball, but has had kennel cough for a few days now so hasn't been well enough. She's on the mend though, after a few sleepless nights for us both!
Can't wait to meet you all!
Flute and Jane.

Thank you,
I think I'm going to like it here.
Hoping the more experienced dog owners can give me advice if and when needed! I'm very new to this!
Regards,
Jane & Flute.

Thank you evryone,
What a lovely welcome!
Any tips on making life for a dog with a blocked up a bit easier would be appreciated. Flute is very snotty at the moment, I treated her cough with antibiotics from the vet and kids benylin but I can't seem to help her breath through her nose. Any suggestions?
Thanks again.
Jane & Flute.

Like us a dog cold will have to ride its course. You have obviously been to the vets and they diagnoised that your dog has a cold, did your vet recommend human medicine?

Some people medications present problems for dogs ... and there is the question about the correct dosage.

Keep her nice and warm and I'm sure it will pass soon Very Happy

Thank you annestaff,
The vet recommended using kids benylin for her cough. I gave her the minimum dose, as if she were a toddler.
It's just so difficult when your pet isn't feeling well and not being able to do anything. It's those big brown eyes!!
I'll take your advice and we'll sit tight and ride out this snot storm together!
Have a lovely day everyone.
Jane & Flute.

Thanks everyone,
Had a great weekend, lots of walks and ball throwing, now she's driving me mad with a squeaky toy!!
She's so much better and full of fun, she's obviously glad to be feeling better too!
Took loads of pictures, so will sort these out and show you all!
All the best,
Jane & Flute.
