Does any1 know where I can find a donkey for sale...he/she will need to be of a reasonable size as he/she will be ridden by a 16 year old girl (me) Cool who wears size 8 clothes. I will not be ready to have a donkey until my family and I move to the Manchester area (June) but if I ask now then ppl will have more chance of seeing this and letting me knw through this so that I can come and see the donkeys for myself.. Smile ...ppl from rescue centres please contact me if u have a suitable donkey at ur establishments too as all the animals my family has owned have been rescued one way or another.... Smile Merry xmas! Amy

Hi,
Sorry I am not much help as I am in Ireland where there are thousands of donkeys, both in rescue centres and in private ownership, they come up at the farmers mart too, but a bit too far for you to acquire one!
Have you contacted the more general animal charities like the RSPCA, who deal with all species? Have any internet searches come up with any leads?
The other problem is that rescue centres may not have enough spare cash to advertise widely or on the internet but on the basis that donkeys will need space, try contacting the animal rescue places in more rural areas. Wood Green, in Godmanchester (Huntingdon) springs to mind. Sorry no tel. number but directory enquiries may be able to help. They may also give you more places to try.
Good luck.

Hi,you could check the adtrader paper or the website.
There is always donkeys for sale. All ages, sizes and some broken to ride/drive etc:.
The adrader sometimes advertises sanctuaries looking to rehome.
Good luck finding one.

Also try classifieds.co.uk. You can look without registering but if you do(its free) it tells you how many miles it is away from you. Good luck...let us know if you find him/her Smile

I dont know of any donkeys around but when i was younger before i got my horses we used to help look after a friends donkeys which they used to show (at coounty level ) and drive very few were ridden. they are a lovely animal but i think i would always go for the horse/ pony
