I think Guineapigs make such funny noises! The first time I heard one I wondered what it was Laughing

The parents of an ex-boyfriend of mine had a chinchilla and that was sweet, although not particularly friendly. Could climb and run at a rate of knots though, very fast!

Personally, I prefer my Corbie, although something smaller wouldn't be able to get their paws on the kitchen work surfaces Rolling Eyes Laughing

i had many guineapigs and rabbits until the fox came, guineapigs (cavies to give them their proper name) are very sweet little things they make better childrens pets than rabbits i mean i am in my mid teens and when i had around 16 rabbits i use to struggle with their handling as they can be very full on.
i had around 6 cavies until thge fox came, they were all royal crested cavies and very sweet, i have had shelties aswell very long haired little cavies, but my all time favourites were the royal crested thus why i used to breed them.
best wishes

Hiya, i lost the link to the site when my internet provider stole my favourites list and came across the site the other day and thought i'm a member of there so thought i would pop by Smile

I have 7 degu's at the moment but the number goes up depending on if i rescue. They are as easy to look after as hamsters and gerbils in my opinion as i have had both, the diet is the hardest part as it needs to be low in sugar but apart from that they make fantastic fun pets. I will have to sort some pictures out as i have hundreds Wink

its got to be gerbils no question. i have 2 (nothing compared to the numbers of pets people have!) they're easy to look after, and the love attension. and the best bit is that you dont have to take them out for walks in the pouring rain! Very Happy

i think all little animals have a huge amount of energy! (excluding my rabbit he's getting kind of old now...) i've seen chinchillas in the shops are they easy to care for? they look really cute!

They are easy to look after. They do like to chew things though so we have to make sure that all our cables are tucked away safely.

They do need to be handled alot but apart from that and making sure they have a sand bath they are just as easy as keeping mice, hamsters, rabbits etc.

I would reccomend them as good pets however i dont let my 2 year old son touch them as they occasionaly like to have a little nibble but thats because i recently moved house and didnt get time to handle them for a good week but they are getting better now Smile

awww they sound so lovely... despite the nipping but thats only thier nature! I wish i could get chinchillas but whilst i'm living in my mums house im not allowed any more pets... Crying or Very sad Im quite lucky really though because i do have by two gerbils and a rabbit! Smile
Gerbils have sandbaths too and they use chinchilla dust. It makes thier coat all smooth and shiny i like watching them roll in it.
can i see some pictures of your chinchillas? what are there names?

Are gerbils realy friendly?

wow you've got like a whole little chinchilla family in your family! thats so cute!

yea my gerbils are pretty small. they just about fit in my little palm. they're always really friendly even when you accidently wake them up they still want a kiss and a cuddle. they're always really curious and are ready for you to show them some love anytime! Also they dont require a great deal of care, the only need disinfecting once every two weeks, they hardly drink anything, they dont bite much (once in a blue moon actually!) and they are fantastic pets for kids!
Sorry i always rant on where gerbils are concerned... i sound like one of them sales women!

what made you choose to get chinchillas? dont take this offensively but they're an unusual choice! Smile

I might get a couple of gerbils soon then Very Happy

I fell in love with my brothers so when they had the babies i decided to have them also i wanted something different as in the past iv had rats, hamsters, mice, cats, dogs, fish, budgies and a couple of ponies so the chinchillas were something new to me.

Im looking to get a sugar glider now aswell but im going to do some research on the internet first as i want to make sure that i can look after them properly Cool

what are sugar gliders? i cant say i've ever heard of them...
you seem to have alot of experiences when it comes to pets, but i bet you've never had a pet cricket!
i would definatley reccomend getting gerbils if you're on the look out for another pet... or two. it proven that gerbils are happier in groups. they live longer with a pair etc etc.
