Post subject: Had to miss the show!

I got to the show this morning, got Deccy out of the car and ...... he gave a couple of coughs Shocked

put him back, he gave a few more.
What else could I do but withdraw him Sad

then I had the dubious pleasure of seeing the dog I beat last time out go BOB while Deccy whinged in the car as he was raring to go and couldn't understand why we weren't going in.
He's been checked over by a vet, seems like it's something and nothing, everything is normal and he hasn't coughed since we got home.
Confused

Couldn't take the risk though that it was something more serious. Sad

Yes indeed! Shocked

Probably for years to come and this is a small Country!
Still, Deccy has finished the year with 30 1st places, 3 group wins, 2 reserve group (2nd), 3 Green Stars & 11 Reserve, and became the first Dalmatian to win the title of Junior Diploma (Irish Junior Warrant).
What's missing one show to be on the safe side?
I'm just glad it wasn't anything more serious.

and you always get to go home with the best dog in any event! I can't wait to start showing again!

but you have done well this year , how many green stars to become a champion,

every year i have mine vaccinated against kennel cough, just to be on the safe side

Mine are both done for Kennel cough, as they spend the working week at kennels during the day it is essential. However, it doesn't always stop every kind of virus possible, in fact Kennel cough comes in 4 forms, 2 viral and 2 bacterial, so there is always a risk of a minor incidence.
Green Stars... good point. As of 1st January 2007 the system is changing to 7 Green Stars under different judges. The previous system went on points according to how many dogs you beat and a few other complications thrown in Rolling Eyes

However, under the new scheme your current points get converted into fewer Green Stars than you probably have already Rolling Eyes

Deccy will go down to 2 so another 5 to get. He's not two yet and still needs to mature so I think we'll do it in the end. I am hopeful for this year but you never know who's coming into the ring without warning Shocked

with a better dog.
