I never understand why they call it 'natural' when its not truely natural, you don't see wolves eating this in the wild, and dogs are just domesticated wolves. Confused

Do you feed a raw diet then Twig?

I do feed raw, but even if I didn't I do think its misleading when manufacturers label petfoods as 'natural'. Theres other examples, such as the 'natural range' at p@h which has egg in it, yet rabbits are herbivores.
The word natural makes people think its the best food for their pets, when it mightn't neccessarily be. Wink

That's a very good point to make.
My friend showed me a website a few weeks ago that tells you what companies make what food, I forget waht it was called but will ask her again.

I actually thought burns was it's own company in it's own right, but I think it said in this website it wasnt.

Like I said I will try and find it and post a link

There is a bit of confusion over pet foods, take the "gourmet" varities for example, you think theyre great for your pet, but theyre not suitable to feed exclusively. They dont have everything in them your cats need, so you still need to buy diff foods and cant feed just these tins of gourmet stuff.

Does anybody here know anything about applaws? It's MEANT to be good, but seems like another sort of food that isnt enough alone to supply all the dietary requirements for your cat

On the topic of gourmet, Ceasar dog food has too much salt in it and apprantly a lot of dogs have been suffering problems from it! Shocked

I'm not sure about Burns, but I know that Mars owns petfood companies, and a lot of brands you assume to be superior to others, are actually all made by the same company. Shocked I have given up totally on commerical petfood, and before switching to raw, I fed a cooked homemade diet.

it amazed me how many companies made diff brands of cat food, as you say mars make some, nestle do too.

As was said, a lot of foods are marketed as natural, so you think they MUST be good for your pets, when In fact they are not.

I am going to be giving my two girls raw, which has had some funny comments!
