Cat Forums - education needed on kimba sambo - Mon Jun 18, 2007 8:08 pm Post subject: education needed on kimba
Okay girls its been a while since i've had a kitten as my eldest cat cleo is now about 9 i think.
Kimba is now about 8 months old and although i wormed and flead her when i had her i have completely forgot how often we are supposed to be treating her and every bloody site tells me different i know she definitely has worms as my daughter spotted one coming out yesterday so i wiped it with tissue
Feel quite sick now but also very guilty i have just ordered some but it doesnt say anywhere how many they are supposed to take and how often i could have swore that when i last did her she had to have 1 every week for 4 weeks or something along those lines the only info the site gives is this.
Dosage
Give 1 tablet orally per 4 kg bodyweight. The coated tablets should be given directly but if necessary can be disguised in food. The tablets are scored into halves to enable a range of weights to be treated.
Now if somone could translate that into english for me and fill in the gaps that would be great
In other words does anybody know what kg is in lbs lol.

1 KG = 2.2046lbs lol thats exactly what it is GerbilPunk - Mon Jun 18, 2007 8:38 pm Post subject:
we dont learn lbs any more... just grams and kg. the whole thing confuses me too just the other way round! honeydlc - Tue Jun 19, 2007 9:05 am Post subject:
Lol, it is confusing isn't it?
To simplify, a tiny cat (kitten really) might weigh 2kg, your average sized cat is likely to weigh 4kg and a large cat would weigh around 6kg, depending on the breed.
So assuming Kimba is of average size, I would just give her one tablet.
What worming tablets are they? If they are Drontal every 3 months should be fine. Hope that helps!

Another VERY GOOD question, gerbilpunk. Lots of people would like to know the answer - but politicians have their own way of working, and it often doesn't seem to be on the same planet as the rest of us.
Now, if dogs ruled the world..... GerbilPunk - Wed Jun 20, 2007 7:58 pm Post subject:
