Post subject: Is it safe to keep pets in my bedroom?
I currently share a bedroom with a rabbit and four fish and yesterday three guinea pigs moved into my room. My boss has told me that the ammonia levels in my room will be too high and its not good for my health to share with all my pets. Is it safe for me, a rabbit and 3 guineas to share the room or do i need to think about moving them? Thanks

Amonia is in the urine and can be dangerous as soon as you smell wee (preferabley before) clean them. As long as you can never smell wee you will be fine.

Degus are large gerbil type things. VERY cute Very Happy

Here is a pic of one of mine hun.

They are south american rodents, many say they resemble a small squirrel but to me they look like huge gerbils Laughing They are lovely rodents, very friendly and always being nosey when you walk into the room. Very Happy

They are best kept in metal cages as they will eat through plastic in a matter of hours Shocked Mine are in a large mesh cage with the metal and wooden shelves.

They are a bit big for a hamster cage Laughing
