You lucky thing anne. I can't afford Sky, cable and broadband haven't reached this far yet so i can't watch animal planet Meerkats are my all time favorite wild animals (my son says i'm obsessed with them ). It's definately better than any human soap on tv. I'd love to have the chance to see them in their natural habitat but i have to make do with frequent trips to Banham Zoo to watch them Whenever i do go to Banham i'd quite happily stay with the meerkats whilst whoever i'm with goes round the rest of the zoo.

In this programme the people who made the film have had camera's set up all over what they call Meerkat Manor for ten years. All the meerkats have been given names and the groups they live in have gang names too Its so comical all the antics they get up to and also serious with the gang land killings that go on
Maybe once the series is over you might be able to buy it on DVD, well worth getting its compulsive veiwing.
Here's a link telling you about it,

I went to the link you put up anne. I'll go anywhere to look at a meerkat. My second favorite wild animal is the Ostrich. It's the look in their eyes that does it for me . They have those too at Banham zoo. Wish i could get a job there

Thanks pollaton. Paid a visit and spent about 10 mins but didn't manage to see one meerkat. Now i have yet another reason (and the best excuse yet) not to do the housework. I can see i'm going to be spending a lot of time waiting for meerkats to appear .....just aswell i have a lot of patience then |
