i keep laughing at his snooty look on the first picture, wilson gives exactly that look when he is just ignoring everything you say to him (which is quite often) ____________

yes he can be quite stubborn, generally he is a good boy, he is 2yrs old on Sat 5th. He is a big lad now so god knows how big he will be eventually. Wilson is lovely, a short hair by the look of your pics,
I searched for 6mths to find him, we ended up on a waiting list. he is from a long standing breeder in Swansea, We got him 2 days before x-mas cos we couldn't wait until after,
He has a huge bark , the air vibrates it's quite funny.
Indiana is just a big teddy, he loves cuddles and games , he has a collection of teddies he plays with. He has no idea of his size, he bounds around when he's excited, anything not nailed down goes flying.
we bought a bigger bed cos he gets on in the morning, we had to get rid of our sports car cos he didn't fit in the boot space after 6mths,he broke the dog ramp i got to get him in the jeep, just snapped in half. Indi is of European confirmation , he has a DIENS HARD Saint in his lines , which i think gives him his very dark mask. He has some dogs from the best lines in the uk and Europe in his Gen which was a bonus as we had no idea of how good this was until i did a bit of searching. but first and last he is my baby boy, we didn't get him for his pedigree, he is a pet.
Thanks for all the hello's i will post some more pics soon.

they really don't have a clue that they are huge do they. we have to be really careful if kids are around, cos he would just send them flying, but only because he wants to play.
i have to say cathy he is the handsomest i've seen (aprart from wilson) but i am biased there. some are very ugly and yes wilson is a shorthaired, but boy does he still moult...how do you cope in spring with all the fur flying? i was emailing other saint owners thinking there was something worng with him. ____________

i spend lots of time hoovering, every day in fact. i also have a rubber broom which gets a lot off the carpet.
at the end of the day we knew when we got him that he would shed alot of hair, so we have all just accepted it , it's like an unwanted gift, you get it in and on everything whether you want it or not. He is worse when he has been clipped, it just drops of him, he has that done every 3 months. AND WHEN THE SLOBBER FLIES we just hold still and hope for the best. LOL . Wilson looks beautiful , i'm a sucker for big doe eyes. Indi gets away with anything when he gives me them eyes,
I don't know about you but we get all the usual lines when we are out and about. the top 5 are
1/it's BEETOVEN
2/ christ it's a horse
3/ that's not a dog it's a donkey
4/ i bet he eats a lot
5/ i hope you've got a big house
But bless them , they all think thier the first to say it.
What sort of brush do you use with Wilson being short hair, i have to use 3 , a spring mounted rake . a detangler and a face brush. and gallons of detangling spray.
Indiana is 2 on Sat 5th , so he'll go for a slightly longer walk and have a few treats, he loves paddling in the lake near where we live. |

wilson is petrified of water. he even pushes you out of the way to avoid a puddle. as for people asking questions about him...exactly the same. but we also get people crossing the road in fear of him...he is probably more scared of them than the other way round .
when i groom him i just need to use a rubber brush, it seems to work the best. can you recommend a way to clip his nails we keep breaking clippers, his hooves, i mean claws are so tough.
hope indiana had a lovely birthday and got well and truly spoilt rotten. ____________

:)well we did buy a pair of clippers and try and do it ourselves, but he would'nt stay still for us so he has them done when he goes to the poodle parlour, failing that try your vet, although it may be a bit expensive.
the two girls that do him are fab he always looks stunning when they do him, it takes them 3 hours from start to finish.
if they split around the edges then a bit of medium sandpaper smooths them out. I have trouble with his pads , he gets rough patches as if it is flaking, i tried moisturiser but he licks it off, i am using pad wax at the minute he's not so keen to lick it but it doesn't last for long.
We too get the crossing the road reaction, that or huge AHHS. It's quite funny sometimes seeing people jump when they come round a corner and see him.
I have just had Indi DNA tagged, dog thefts are on the increase and held to ransom , especially uncommon breeds. It cost £100 but it's worth it i think , it proves ownership and the do search and find if he gets lost. Is there a scheme like this where you live.
Indi had a lovely birthday thanks, he enjoyed his walk and the extra treats he had. |
