Dog napping group caught in Surrey.

Taken from another forum, please be careful.

I am a trainer in the Reigate area and one of my clients had her dog snatched last week, the Reigate police were involved and caught the man. They rang her this week to say that they have caught a gang in the Essex area, there were many pups, labradoodles etc in the farm buildings. They had a micro scanner and had removed the chips from the dogs.
They have now got dogs without chips so they cannot identify their owners, so if you know of anyone who has lost a dog/pup recently they might be able to get more details of the dogs being held. The Reigate police were the ones who initially caught the man but because the dogs were found in Essex the Essex police are doing the procecution.

Apparently, the Police are now saying they don't know a lot about this and have referred LostLabs who are trying to reunite dogs to owners etc to the 'farming' section of Reigate Police.

Its all got very confusing with lots of posts about the same subject but noone really knowing what the hell is going on.

I live in Essex and we have had dog napping here too. My friend had her staffie stolen from out of her back garden. Luckily her son was on his way home and was asked if he knew anybody that wanted to buy a dog. He said he would have a look. It turned out to be his own dog. How lucky was that!
