I had a lovely weekend girls we stayed in a lovely b&b ran by and irish lady who was very welcoming and had ran the place single handed for 9 years after her husband had passed away with cancer the rooms were very nicely decorated we arrived there at about 9pm so after dropping our stuff into our rooms asked Mary (the lady who ran the house) how far was the nearest pub she told us to walk out of the b&b turn right and it was a 3 minute walk lol what a laugh we were walking for half an hour up hills with tiny paths thinking we had been walking the wrong way but the place was sooo quiet and there were nobody about so we just carried on hoping so about 10 minutes later arrived at the pub.
Next day we decided to walk into Blarney which Mary again said about 10 minute walk so we knew it would take about an hour and we were right but once there the village was so small and there was nothing much to do so off we went on bus to Cork city really busy town and some lovely buildings, churches etc.
We went back into Cork the day after Sunday as this is where my boyfrinds dads girlfriends dad originally came from so we had a tour of the street he once lived in 30 years previous then on to the bus to get to the airport to watch the England match as our flight was 18.55 but once there they werent showing the match as it was Cork cities hurling final and all tv's were showing this instead you can imagine my boyfriends and dads faces lol
It wasn't until we walked over to departures that we realised they were playing the match there so we got to watch the last 15 minutes all in all had a great weekend and the views there were superb and the place where we were staying was lovely and peaceful something that we dont get where i live.
I should get the pics developed next week and i'll post one of the views as its lovely. ____________

I keep sticking a pin in me map but never find anywhere nice I want a little B&B somewhere, 3hrs max drive, from Suffolk. No nightlife just nice scenery ( i did tell anne the sort of scenery i'd like but i'm past all that now ) Any ideas anyone Sorry to hijack your topic sam |
