Today Ginger finaly had her kittens 2 wks early,unfortunetly all the kittens were stillborn although properly formed only very tiny,has any1 got any reasons for this or been through the same situation,i realy dont want to get her neutered but i dont want to put her through this ordeal again,any help please

Hi. Sorry to hear your sad news - how awful for you and Ginger.

Unfortunately we do not know exactly why stillbirths occur - it is relatively rare thankfully. Was she in good health prior to the kittening? No ongoing health problems? Have you had the kittens post mortemed as this may give clues as to why this has hapened.

I would advise having her spayed. It would not be wise to risk this happening again so spaying is your best option.

cheers for the reply,no i didnt have the kittens post mortemed maybe i should have now,i just buried them in the garden.Ginny today and last night is back to her wonderful self being friendly etc and doesnt seem to realise what has gone on.I expected her to fret but nothing.I think a trip to the vet just to get her double checked is advisable shes always been healthly when goin for annual checks.Although she still is rather plump nothing like she was but i expected her to go quite scrawny afterwards is this normal?Thanks for replying anyway and the advice,it was much appreciated

just another quick question is it normal for her to be spotting with blood the nxt day its not heavy at all but ive noticed a wet watery bloody patch where shes been sitting and shes not for letting me look
