i have noticed that my male cockatiel's nose looks slightliy swollen and more red than normal, and it also looks as if it might be blocked, any advise would be greatly appreciated, other than that he seems perfectly fine eating, drinking and very active.

Hello,

Yes it is a possibility that it is an allergy. What substrate are you using?

As a veterinary nurse (and in my second year of training at the Royal Veterinary College to become a vet) myself i can say it is quite common for the smaller birds to have problems like this.

If he/she goes off her food, warm honey is great to give. Not only do they love the taste, but it is very good at helping colds.

Please keep us updated with what your Veterinarian says.
