am slightly confused as to when you can have your kitten neutered my moms kitten is now 13 weeks now and has been told she can be done at 3 months 5 months and 6 months Confused Confused

yes it varies according to practice policy. Personally I have seen cats spayed at 3 months and they are just babies - its so sad - they wake up in some pain and look so pitiful.

I think 5 1/2 months is about right age - before the 1st season.

5 1/2 months is about the right age. It depends on the vets preferance + practice protocol.

At 3 months most cats are so small they wake up confused + in some pain + its sad to see.

At 5 1/2 months they are a fair bit bigger and as long as it's before the 1st season and not during a season then it's up to you and the vet operating.

I believe that breeders of pedigree cats often sell them at 14 weeks already neutered - to prevent any chance of them being bred from - so it would appear that many vets are doing it that early anyway.
