If you use boarding kennels, how do you choose one? Are you allowed to see the actual kennels first? Last year I was in the process of buying boarding kennels (aborted due to change in circumstances) and I was surprised at some of the things that went on "behind the scenes" in some of them I viewed when I was thinking of buying.

I myself think that if your not allowed to take a look around first then do not under any circumstances leave your dogs their what are they hiding is what i would ask myself.
My cousin started work at a kennels near me and she told me some horrible stories so me and a freind decided to pay her a visit and was told that the owners dog which was a rottweiler was fed on meat while all the others were fed on a cheap dried food even though a number of the owners had chose to bring there own food in she was told to feed them the cheaper version.
Most of the dogs and cats seemed very stressed or unhappy, she even asked the owners if she could take some of them for a walk to get them out of the kennels and was sharply told NO so after a week she left and was never paid for the weeks work.
