I classed them as fosters to begin with because before they arrived I was considering fostering for the RSPCA; taking care of their animals until the RSPCA could find homes for them. I think that he'll be very difficult to place because he needs to go to a home that either already has a male/spayed female guinea pig, or is willing to adopt one. And I think that if someone is going to need to adopt another guinea pig as well as Toby, they'll feel that they may as well go to the shelter and get a pair. This will make it easier to place him (although it's still difficult - I'm picky!), and even if I don't manage at least he wont be lonely. I don't think it's right to keep a guinea pig alone, unless in exceptional circumstances where the pig doesn't get on with others.
