Ooooh, I used to do Guinea Pig Rescue, and if I had £1 for everyone who suddenly becomes allergic at holiday times or Christmas I would be a very rich woman indeed. Sad isn't it, how people just discard animals once they become an inconvenience.

Years ago I took in a cat from Sandbach Animal Rescue in Cheshire. The cat was a lovely tabby/tortie girl who stayed with us until she died at 18 years of age.

When we got her, the lady at the rescue told us she had already been rehomed and returned twice before.

The reasons:

(a) The neighbours didn't like her
(b) She didn't match their carpet, and could they swap her for a ginger? (Guess the answer to this one!)

She was the most wonderful cat ever.

Makes you really sad, doesn't it?

Oh wow, what an awful crazy woman! And the poor poor cat. I am glad you laid into her, because I would have too.
