When I helped with rehoming Dalmatians, I became quite cynical about the reasons why people wanted to rehome their pet. Some of the more popular were:- I'm pregnant so it has to go NOW It doesn't get on with my older dog (but they've had it for 3 years) It ate the hamster It snapped at the kids (who were swinging off its tail) My husband/wife doesn't want it (I'd keep the dog!) It sheds hairs everywhere We're going on holiday I have to go out to work these days My child is allergic to it (we can't be bothered to walk it) What is the worse reason you have heard? I had a simular experience skippy a few years ago now my boyfriend knew somebody who was going to have their rotty put to sleep as her boyfriend was beating her up and she was moving back in with her parents so i took him in.
