hey would just like to hear what your dogs get up to on there many outings.. lol my dog jet is very slow in her old age and with her arthritis a walk to the park which is across the road takes about 15 minutes now and when she was little it only took about 5, she still loves it though wen we get there she wants to chase everything but if i let her i know she will come back with acheing joints so i keep her next to me and i have a gentle game of fetch with her..

Also when she was fit enough she used to go on days out with my family to the beach etc.. which i and jet loved very much and hopefully when i pass my driving i will take her everywhere with me again lol

umm well when maddy is off the lead she is very fast, thats what jack russells are like, when on the lead she doesnt pull, you'll notice she'll keep looking up, but you need your warning cap on when a car or a big vehicle as she'll go after it. then up to a farm and gets tied up in a calf shed

Bracken not sure, id rather let her run with out the lead, dont really take her out someone else does

It has been a very unpleasant experience up until recently because Meg pulled really badly - she might be only 9 months but is quite strong and also was pulling so hard she was wheezing where she was almost choking! Tried all the tips we learned at puppy training - hopeless! We have now discovered the Halti head harness - Joy! Instantly the walks improved and Meg trots along nicely - fab- everyone is happy!

I like to let her off the lead but have to be really careful because if another dog appears she runs away. I am expecting that to improve as her confidence grows around other dogs.

Being a Springer she loves to sniff everything, go through puddles and chase birds and her tail never stops wagging! I wish I had a fraction of her zest for life!

If she is good at listening to your comands, take her out in the country for a run, or use a very long training lead and start from there

when bracken goes off the lead, she has been off it in fields as a puppy, but on it for walks

bubbles loves his walks. his breed are supposed to be an "apartment dog" due to their characteristic lack of needing a lot of exercise - so isnt true with bubbles! i have a large park area near to mine and when we get there he goes off the lead and loves running around. he is very well trained and at 19wks old he comes back when i ask him every time - even when there are other dogs/people around. i find using small bits of sausage a perfect excuse to come to my command - it gives him something to come back for!

When my lot go out for a walk I am in for an interesting time!!

When they are first let off the lead, the collies take of at 200 mph - like they do - followed by a 10" Jack Russell shouting at the top of her voice because she can't keep up!!!! When the collies eventually slow down, Lottie is then looking like a viscious thing because she's telling the pair of them off for not waiting!!!!! Laughing

Loki likes to say "Hi" to every dog we see - however far away they are!!!! He also has inherited from his Great Granny a love of water - the dirtier and muddier the better!!! So any walks with big puddles are much to his liking. He avoids little puddles like the plague!!

Grace and Lottie are at present taking a doguversity course in rabbit droppings!!! They are taking their studies very seriously indeed!! Rolling Eyes

They are both also rollers (UGH!!!) so I have to keep a close eye on the pair of them - just in case they look like they might start!!!!!

There is never a dull moment when the gang are loose!!!!! Laughing

Our little jack russel is really good, she can be let off and she doesnt go far away from you or if she does then she comes back when you call her. Our lab on the other hand, you let him off and he runs away fast,he does come back but listens to my OH more than he does me. But i must say he is getting better with me

Kips is very much like Jet, arthiritis means we take a long time to go a very short distance Crying or Very sad Rolling Eyes

But, she seems to forget she has poorly legs when we get to:
- a river
- the sea
- a wood
- the grandchildren want to play football Laughing Laughing
But unfortunatley she suffers afterwards
