the problem is for every one on the animal there is something like 50 in your house and they breed for fun. the eggs can lie dormant for upto 6 months. so you have to break the cycle. treat the house, espescailly sleeping spots, treat teh animals and then treat the house again.always making sure that you give everywhere a thourough hoovering. i l ike you get bit the minute a flea sniffs me out, i thinkthey like fair skin....mosquitos also love me, thats whats biting me for fun at the mo.
hope you sort it out soon. Smile

the products that they sell in petstores say repel fleas not kill them...you have to use either frontline or programme to kll them. you have to get them fro myour vets, so ask how soon you can put it on them. Very Happy

Pollaton has a point if ur dog has fleas then they will be in the carpet, they actually live in carpets and not on the dogs so i would get the house sprayed from top to bottom and then use frontline i swear by it

If you have a problem with fleas in the house, then I would definately see the vet. As has already been said, the shop bought products are pretty useless. Frontline and Advantage are good, but only available from the vet. As Pollaton says, there are likely to be many more in the house. If it's severe, the vet may also given an injection (can't remember what it's called) this helps ensure the cycle is broken.
