| Post subject: Can't find a kitten anywhere - UPDATED |
 |
|
Hi
I am hunting high & low for a kitten at the moment, and the very few litters that are advertised have normally all gone by the time I have rung them.
There seems to be a shortage at the moment. Have tried ringing all the local vets and rescue placed - nothing.
Is it too early for kittens ?
Thanks

Hi
I think it is still a little early, have only heard about a couple of litters in the last 2 weeks.
There will be lots on the go shortly, especially with the warmer weather we have had!!
Best wishes |

Have you tried the Cats Protection League???? http://www.cats.org.uk/
Nat's right the world will be flooded in unwanted kittens in about a month, but the CPL maybe able to point you in the right direction to some early ones. ____________ Jules and the Ark |

My mum had her cat put down a week before her birthday last november. My brother and me looked for kittens but didnt find many and the ones we did find were expensive breeds like ragdoll kittens. He did go to a cattery which had taken in a mother cat and her litter of 5/6 kitens,he gave the cattery a donation for them, and they are now very happy healthy, and scatty.
Unfortunately when the weather does turn and get cold you do find that kittens arent as available as they would be in the spring summer months. I would always try and rehome any animal, especially cats and dogs. If i had my way id have at least another dog and a couple of cats, but my OH says no but i am working on him for a cat,and i will get my way it saddens me when i see the cats and dogs in kennels that need rehoming |

UPDATE.......
I have been to Oxford Cat Rescue, as I had seen a 7 year cat that I was going to rescue as well as getting a kitten, anyway went to see him and he is so very lovely, did not realise that he came in with a 20 year old cat too. So I am now adopting both of them, as it would of broken the 20 year old's heart to be left, and doubt that he would have any interest at his age, and so no kitten now. |

Hi there Henry's mum
Yes there are so many rescues.
Also I've read that generally black and black and white cats are the hardest to rehome unlike the more 'prettier colours'
Did you really want a kitten or would an older cat suit.During the kitten seasons they are always overlooked.

i know this is nothing to do with the topic, but why do people pay so much for a cat? does it really matter if its a pedagree? my friend has a bengal and she is the most beautiful cat i've ever seen, but why pay so much? (i wont say how much she was because only our group knows... its a secret! )
oh, and by the way, this has been bugging me, whats an OH? ____________ PIRATE.♥
