Post subject: Hi there! Reply with quote

Hi, I've just joined and have only recently discovered forums! Don't quite know where I've been. I've got 2 lovely cats, which you can see on their website www.minandmon.co.uk

They are both 10 years old and we got them from a rescue centre 9 years ago. We really want a dog, but I'm concerned it might upset their status in the house! Mon (the fluffy one) is scared of her own shadow, so not sure how she'll cope with a puppy! Min will probably manage OK.

Anyway, hope to be visiting this forum regularly, whilst pondering getting a dog!
Niki

Hi, i am a newbie too. i have 2 cats aged 15 and 14 and a dog of 17 and have just got 8 week old german shepherd female.
my cats are a bit put out by the new pup, but being only 8 weeks she is smaller than them. my cats hiss at her a lot and walk around near enough on the bellies sometimes but there have not been major issues. i must point out though the puppy is almost blind so she seems to just ignore them as though they were other puppies. the times that she has got up close to smell them they hiss and walk away. hope everything goes well for you.
carol.

Thanks Carol for your comforting words! I think your right and the answer is definitely to get a puppy (rather than an older rescue dog) - they can at least sort out who's the boss in the house before puppy get's too big!

Really want a English Bull Terrier - which we've wanted for years and now I work from home it seems the ideal time to go for it - as it will need a lot of attention/training! We both grew up around dogs and are big animal lovers.

I wonder if there's anyone on here who's a 'bully' owner? Would love some advice as to where to go (there are some many breeder websites) or to see some pics.
