I've just read up on google about these foxes.
I think your Mum will be lucky to get one in the UK it looks like it's a USA trend at the moment.
They look as though it is a lot of hard work to master domestication of these foxes too. It even says it's tricky to find a vet to take one on.
They are beautiful but I think cats and dogs look a lot less work.
Good luck in your search. ____________

Can I ask why you and your Mum would want to take a wild animal from it's native home and place it in a completely alien environment (ie your home) then try (probably unsuccessfully) to tame it???
That video clip DISGUSTS me.....How could anyone think those beautiful creatures were happy? They looked absolutely terrified of the idiot with the camera and were displaying all the behaviours of cornered, frightened wild animals, while being kept in a tiny room, when they should have had acres of land to roam around.....
Just because some idiots in the US have them as "pets", does not make it right.
We have enough problems in this country homing and rehoming domestic dogs and cats, without adding wild animals into the equation.
If you want to do some good in the world and want a challenge, then look no further than your local Dog Rescue centre....I'm sure they will be able to place with you a terrified, possibly abused dog, that you can love, nurture and train for the better of the dog....Which will be far more rewarding for both you and the dog than caging and trying to tame a truely wild beast. ____________ Jules and the Ark |

Have to agree with above post, those poor foxes were not happy at all. They are wild animal not domesticated pets and would probably wreck your house. They are also nocturnal so unless you completely change your habits and be up at night and sleep during the day you will have very little interaction with them. If you want a small dog with large ears why not a Chihuahua?

Sadly, far too many wild animals are taken into homes as pets because they 'look cute', or are unusual.
Please , observe them in their wild habitat, believe me they are far more beautiful there.

hi welcome to petchat!
gotta say, i read the first two posts, and i thought it sounded a bit strange, as i have seen them in a safari park before, and they were in a forest-type environment, so prehaps a consevitry isn't the best place to keep them. they are quite pretty, but like heather said, the ears are a little big... what made your mum choose them? i doubt you can get them in the UK, as it is not thier natural environment in this country.
hope we havent put you off this website, we're all nice people really! ____________ PIRATE.♥

I used to own a skunk! Due to the fur farm trade skunks are now classed as domesticated, they make fabs pets and come in many colours, my one was chocolate but she wasn't happy on her own so she went to live with some others.
