my next door neighbour has six cats. whats wrong with that? well ill tell you.
cat 1:long haired black male.matted fur.weeping eyes and riddled in fleas.Had a huge wound on its neck which was left untreated for weeks!
cat 2:tabby and white.sex unknown.eye is clouded over.lost loads of weight.riddled in fleas.
cat 3:tabby male.scared of anyone.riddled in fleas.
cat 4:very old tortie female.large lump on side of head.very thin.riddled in fleas.
cat 5:grey male approx 8 months old.riddled in fleas.weepy eyes
cat 6:5 month old female.black and white.weepy eyes.riddled in fleas.was brought at the age of 4 weeks and let out to roam straight away.riddled in fleas.cat 1 is now trying to mate with it.cat 5 picks on it.has weepy eyes
this is realy making me mad to see them like this and it seems nothing will change as the rspca have been round loads of times and all he gets is advice.to make things worse he has pet insurance and loads of money so i cant understand why he wont take them to the vets.I feel so guilty and cruel everytime i see them and its getting me down now! wish someone would take them off him but he refuses to give them up! |

| Aww thats aweful. Why on earth does he want cats if he cant take care of them? It must be so frustrating to see. Can you annoymously tip off the RSPCA again? I wonder why they can't remove the cats....grrr! |

the rspca was called out about 3 weeks ago they looked at the cats and then went again.he says that he has the cats for company even though he is at work for 12 hours a day! as far as i know its only the rspca that have the power to take them off him.I have looked at places like cats protection but it seems that they can only take a cat in if its a stray or if someone hands it in.
Im not giving up though ill call the rspca 10 times a day if i have to!!!!!!!
I would sneak them in my house however my dogs sees them as his dinner the naughty boy! lol |

I'm surprised that the RSPCA inspector does nothing. If there are injuries or obvious illness as you say, it is an offence now to leave the animal untreated.
This 'duty of care' thing that recenlty became a law, must surely apply in this case.
If you call the RSPCA again, try and ask why this case is not being handled under the new law.
Anyway, well done to you for caring and trying to do something to help these poor cats.

Having just read another thread...Frosty's Eye Problems...these cat's obviously have conjunctivitis too...surely the RSPCA should look into this...as the owner obviously does not care at all. ____________ Dogs: Katie and Holly

Im going to ring them tommorrow i cant ring up at home as i havnt got a landline phone.hopefully the more people that ring in our road will make the rspca take action. They knew about the open wound on one of the cats neck as it was them that took it to the vets so i just cant understand why they dont take them away.my mom makes cages for the rspca and she says they oreder thousands of pounds worth even though the ones they have are ok.seems they like to through money at irrelevent stuff rather than medical treatment for neglected animals.
also my friend found a stray about 2 years ago so she phone the rspca to ask them to take it in and they wanted her to pay £50 as "they were full".
I know what i think and thats that they are happy to take money but no to spend it on those who need it! |

Sounds to me like another stupid uneducated owner and im afraid i dont think much to the rspca is there no way you could maybe drop a few hints to the owner maybe even telling him about frontline and how good it is compared to shop brought products etc.
What annoys me about this case is that the owner is insured so why on earth has he not treated the poor cats. ____________
