hey welcome to petchat, i got my first guinea pigs this year and im 21 lol
they always talk about me behind my back lmao only joking but they do make funny noises as if there havin a good old natter.
i was just wondering what bedding did you use for yours as i use hay but to try and keep them a little warmer i tried the bedding you get in the cardboard tubes you can buy and one of my guinea pigs started eating it so i took it out straight away, any more ideas on bedding for them.
also the poll you did was good but you never put bunny rabbit on there as i have 7 id say i see more rabbits than anything else lol.
if ya get another guinea pig you can post pics up on here of him or her. ____________

I think if you are getting another guinea pig you'd have to ensure they could be bonded with your other 2, or else get two as they really don't well on their own as you said yourself, your pair of piggies are happier than your lone one was.
www.guineapigrehome.org.uk is a good place as it means you can give animals a second chance and you aren't supporting the awful pet mills that supply petshops.

Ive had guinea pigs for about 2 years now and i have found that on occasions the big male Buddy has bullied the little male Jack Baeur a little bit but always solved the problem with no injuries and most of the time are snuggled up together in the corner of their hutch. The weird thing is the little guy is always ready to come and see me when i come outside to feed them etc. he comes out of his sleeping area and pretty much takes the grass or carrot out of my hand. Buddy however is no where near as confident but will come out when he is okay to take his share of his dinner. Jack will let me stroke him but with buddy it is quite rare. I originally had three guinea pigs but Sunny died of pneumonia in September so i am specially more careful these days (twice the hay, a cover over them at night and they are cleaned out more often) to hopefully minimise any risks. Welcome to Pet chat ____________ Frankie, Bindi, Buddy, Jack Baeur, Peter Pan, Ruffty Tuffty, Sox, Dexter,Tiger, Vilmaris, Run free at rainbow bridge Sunny, Betty, Flint and Jack Bauer

I originally had three guinea pigs but Sunny died of pneumonia in September
Freaky, I had a guinea-pig die of pneumonia a few yrs back, AND his name was Sunny he died in my arms though
Anywho, wow, I thought my baby Pepper was old when he passed away, (he was 6 and a half) 8 yrs wow! I know they can live between 3 and 10 but the other two of mine died around their 3rd birthdays
I taught Pepper how to jump up the settee lol I wouldn't advise anyone really doing that, they could get hurt but I was a little kid and I wanted a dog to teach tricks but Pepper was as clever as any dog I remember once, I was about 11, I'd had him in my room which was normal, but I'd left him on my bed, running around in my duvet. My mum called me and said we were going out, I grabbed my shoes and coat and we went out. About an hour or two later, we came back home and I went straight out to Pepper's hutch and he wasn't in there. I started to panic and thought about where I saw him last and I ran to my room and found him curled up in my duvet looking as though nothing had actually happened He also once got stuck in a welly while he was running about in the utility room, and also in a bag of hay, he literally jumped from my arms to get into the bag and he wouldn't come out so we had to rip the bag apart He was a character
Then there was Nutmeg, he hated me coz he was my brother's and only loved my brother lol He would jump from your arms actually, you'd have to really hold him tight so he wouldn't jump and hurt himself, but he'd usually head for the bushes at the edges of the garden and there are a LOT of cats that live in the estate so they would have got him if we hadn't first lol. Then there was Sunny, I couldn't tell you much about him because, as horrible as it sounds, I don't remember a lot about him We had him for about 3 yrs but we were unable to take any photos to remember what he looked like, all I remember was that he was a small boy, he was creamy/yellow and white, sort of Albino. I remember Pepper and Sunny were really close, Pepper would look after him like he was his son lol.. they were sweet. Nutmeg was kinda like the nasty uncle lol he didn't like the other two very much after a while.
Since Pepper passed away in '03, I've not had anymore until January last yr I got myself a little boy, named Harvey. He's the first indoor guinea-pig I've owned and to be honest, I haven't had a more photogenic guinea-pig! He's a yr old now (worked out he'd have been born in the November of 2006) and a couple of weeks ago I stayed at my gf's house for 3 weeks, I came back and I think my brother had been feeding him WAY too much because he's almost twice the size as he was before I left, so he's on a diet now
Guinea-pigs are great little animals to keep as pets, they're cute and funny and cuddly! On a serious note though, I do think they're ideal first pets for sensible children who want a little bit more responsibility. They're cheap and easy to look after, they will be your friend, sit on your lap and talk to you about their day lol, they'll, on rare occations, curl up and fall asleep on your lap too. If you don't mind the odd poop, odd pee, and being covered in fur, then I think they're exellent pets.
Ok, I'm done now
