hi
i have notised a few people realy cross and sad that they have asked the vet nurse somthing and never got any response !!!
i think some people think of it as a free vets consultation and so perhaps it would be best taken off as a forum?

The vet nurse is just a everyday member like us so has the same commitments, work, family etc so she shouldn't be expected to be here 24/7 answering posts.
Maybe she's on her hols or personal reasons are keeping her away, we don't know so shouldn't judge.
She has given some great advice in the past,maybe admin can send her an email to make sure everythings ok. |

hi
im sure the vet nurse dose give good advise but if people post asking for help and expect help and then dont get it , its not working!!!
or just put it under health so any one who posts their isnt expecting a quick professional reply.

I agree with you Coliel, I was going to suggest the same thing. Of course the vet nurse has her own life and commitments but the last time she posted that I can see was August 22nd.
I also think that the title 'Ask the vet nurse' puts other people off replying to questions when they may have knowledge and experience which might help.
I'm a qualified vet nurse too and I'm happy to answer questions when I can, but I think it would be better as a general 'Pet Health', so that everyone can chip in if they have relevant advice.

good idea all, yes Jenny who is the vet nurse (In fact my sister in law)  is actually >7 months pregnant atm and so has personal things going on
I will change the title of the forum to Pet Health as suggested and people like Georgia can chip in then

HI Guys
Yes I have been busy with my toddler, work, and I am due to give birth next month - Pet Chat has not been my top priority lately I have also been very anemic and exhausted.
I come on as often as I can.
As someone rightly said I am a member like you guys and do have a busy life.

hey congratulations on the baby, and im disapointed i dont think you should of got rid of the vetnurse topic, because people should not rely on a forum they should know when something is not right and take their pets to the vets asap, cus the time they spend on here trying to get an answer from anyone on the matter not just a vet nurse there pet could die and they will be lookin for someone to blame..
so the advice im giving to people is, if you think something is seriously wrong wid your pet ring a vet straight a way or take them there asap, its better to be safe than sorry...

I agree with Shadylady! Surely if you think a pet is in desperate need of medical treatment/help then the sensible thing to do is to take your animal to the vets

Now, now, Jen. The title is actually "Get rid of ask the vet nurse. Nobody is trying to get rid of you! 
I think changing the title of the forum is a good idea. It removes pressure from you too, as it doesn't imply any more that you have any responsibility to answer.
All the best with the birth - hope all goes well. And that your family settles down quickly with its new member! |
