Racing greyhounds have tattoo's in their ears, but i have been told that they do not like their ears touched after having this done. It makes them extra sensitive. ____________ Dogs: Katie and Holly

Chips and tattoos can be both removed...There really is no absolute 100% fail safe method of marking your dog.
It is a bit of a myth about Greyhounds too....they don't like their ears touched whether or not they have been tattooed.....it is because they have extremely fine skin, so their skin is very sensitive to touch. ____________ Jules and the Ark |

I definitly wouldn't get the dog tattooed as this is normally done on the ears and i've heard many stories of dogs having their ears cut off so they can't be traced (dogs are fully awake and normal kitchen scissors are used) . ____________ Kayleigh and all the little terrors

As has been said no method of permenant identification is 100% guaranteed but I have to say that I've heard of far many pets being returned, even after 10 years, as a result of their chip than a tattoo.

so chip is best!
i supose loosing a dog and having some one find him and take him to a warden or vets is much more probable than having a dog stolen and with thiefs i dont supose what you use will stop them! |
