As for the warterproof coats she has one of them for her hips in the winter to keep them dry and to keep her dry.

Bit of a recurring theme, here. This discussion keeps coming up...

IMO, putting clothes on a dog that needs them for health reasons, or warmth or protection against weather or other conditions is totally different from dressing them up like little dollies.

I'm not objecting to somebody putting a hat or reindeer antlers on a dog for a short joke - but to dress the dog up as something it is not is definitely not kind to the dog. They may tolerate it, and may even enjoy the attention, but what a sad way to get it.

You want a dog? Treat it like a dog. You want a dress-up doll? Get a dress-up doll.

i have a coat for my dog also it has a reflective strip on it and its to keep her warm as she has arthritus. and HD, so i think if its helping your dog i dont see why not.. but the costumes are stupid and my dad always say to me even when jet needs her coat hes like she already got a fur coat she dont need it.. but i see she needs it infact i think she needs a new one as the one i have ive had for 2 1/2 years so its a bit tatty..

but personally i will never dress my dogs in costumes, and other clothes as an acessorie thing as a dog isnt an acessorie to be paraded about..

But i see ribbons around the neck as ok as dogs have collars anyway..
i even do that to my dog lol its cute.. but costumes are silly..

ok, he's not quite a dog but... (but my friends are convinced he is Rolling Eyes)

i agree with shadylady, ribbons flowers etc look cute, but costumes are just OTT especially on little chihuahuas that they carry in their handbags Rolling Eyes
