Well i have come to the conclusion that cats can be agrophobic as my kimba refuses to go out at all we have tried sitting with her in front & back garden leaving the door open for her putting all 3 cats out together etc etc but she simply freezes on the spot and flees straight back inside.
Anybody else had this problem it doesn't really bother me as my other cat jess only ever goes outside for toilet then comes straight back i just can't help thinking she is missing out. ____________

yep, I had exactly the same thing with my little cat Ribsy, she absolutely refused to go out, in fact one time she was on the windowsill and fell off (ground floor luckily ). She cowered outside on the floor and just howled, I rushed outside thinking she'd hurt herself, but nope, she was just terrified at being outside.
The funny thing is, she was actually a feral cat for about 10 years before she came to live with me, I think she decided which lifestyle she preferred!!

When i was younger i rescued a ferrel kitten whos mother and siblings had abandoned it. The owner of the farm was going to set his dog on it so i stuffed her down my jacket one very cold wet day and took her home. Unfortunatley mom said we couldnt keep her so my uncle and nan took her in.
After her injections they were going to start letting her out (not for long though) but she was so scared of the outside that she ran back in the house. Ginny is now 8 years old and has never been back outside. My uncle leaves doors and windows open for her but she wont go outside. ____________

Just replied on your litter tray thread to say I have a cat that hates going out doors, I just think she is blinkin lazy personally Mind you she is 14lb in weight, not I hasten to add due to over feeding and lack of exercise, we had loads of tests done when she was younger, can't find the cause, but shes happy thats the main thing ____________ Natalie and Co xxx

my cat isnt agraphobic but if he went out on his own i dont think he would find his way back.. and you all know why... but i think he is claustrophobic as he opens every door in the house and doesnt close them lol ____________
