Post subject: Excessive barking, a little help please? Reply with quote

Hey persons

I have a seven month old Border collie mix and he is an excessive barker! Yea I know, they are suppose to, it’s their breed, but it’s mostly when i'm walking him. He barks at everyone, bikers, runners, people just walking lawn mowers anything outside, he will bark ant it. he jumps at them too, I have a anti-pull harness and it seems to stop him enough (I used a gentle leader or halti but it started rubbing the hair off his nose and I didn’t want that) does anyone know how to stop him just "attacking" people... it scares some too cuz he has a deep voice... Embarassed

Do you take him to dog training ? There are often trainers there who can help with specific problems, depending on how common that breed is where you live, there may be one with specific breed knowledge or someone who has come across that problem before.
Also..... can the breeder help? They have usually got excellent knowledge especially of their breed....
