I would like to know the pros and cons of keeping chickens. Everything about keeping chickens, the positive and negative side to everything about chickens!

For a full answer, have a look on Amazon they have loads of books for the beginner, I bought one before I had my chickens as I had zero experience Confused
Like all creatures, they need suitable housing, food, water all the time and cleaning out daily. I bought mine as a "package" from Red House poultry in Bawdsey, Suffolk, they even delivered. I got absolutely everything apart from the fencing panels I used to contain them to a particular area - which was moved every week so they had fresh grass and weeds.
Pro's? They get to know you and become tame, they all have different personalities, they are little effort and their droppings make good garden fertiliser. I had six and got bewteen 5 and 10 eggs a day.
Cons? The risk of foxy getting them, so make sure they are secure and shut up at dusk. Also, they destroy any living vegetable matter with their feet so don't put them on the lawn! You will end up with a dirt patch where they are.

They do have a website, suggest you try a search. As I am overseas my searches on UK bring up every result in the world Rolling Eyes I don't have their details any more, except their telephone number is 01394 410273 I am sure they will give you the web address.
I think they are open sundays so worth a try today.

Ok i will do a search, later on today, god our house is mayhem my sistersa re here with their children for sunday lunch, and i think if i hear another scream, i am going to go insane!
Thanks for the phone number to Spottydog. If i cant find a website i will try ringing them, if not ,there is a famr and farm shop about 5 minutes from here. Oops forget about that, even though i walk past there with the dogs everyday Embarassed
We have decided that chickens maybe easier then ducks, less requirements, i founbd out why my mother said no, it was because when we used to have the ducks before, their pond used to get so messy, and it was too hard to look after Shocked
