I think its cause he's young and immature so as he'll get older he'll mature and you never know he may like you cuddling him, he's just at that age

Archie and Reggie have met again today for the first time in ages and they loved playing together. Reggie even let Archie into his cage and jump on his hammock which was a good step for them. It's the first time in a while that Reggie has looked bright eyed and happy Very Happy

The tablets arrived yesterday and we have a game trying to get it down him, so we have resulted to crushing them and spooning it into his mouth, not very pleasent for him but less stressful!

He is starting to get fed up now and kind of spits at me when i go to get him out of the cage so now i have to grab him with a towel as he bit me yesterday. It's realy frustrating as he was starting to love being handled but has now taken a step back Sad I don't blame him though, the poor boy has been poked and prodded and had so much medication over the past couple of months that even i would be annoyed if it was me. I guess i'm just going to have to spend even more time playing with him so that he doesn't associate coming out of the cage with being medicated all the time.

Had to ring the vet today to ask for some more hibiscrub but apart from that he seems ( touch wood!) to be doing realy well. His feet are still bald and red but they are not bleeding anymore and all the wounds have heeled up. His ears are staying scab free but he is still having medication for them aswell as having his antibiotics and tablets so we wont be able to tell how well they are doing until he stops his medication, which will be in 7 days.

We double checked that he could start interacting with Archie and he said that as his tests showed no signs of a contagious infection he is 100% happy for them to play together. We had both of them out together in the living room this evening and Reggie just perked up and they were both chasing eachother around ( in a playful way!).

We are going to start putting Archie in Reggies cage with the door shut over the weekend for 5minutes 3 times a day whilst under supervision and see how they go. Hopefully a bit of company will cheer him up and we will have two cuddled up chinchillas!

I will post pics and videos of them together at the weekend so you can see just how cute they realy are when they are together. Very Happy

Just to let you know, you will be able to get hibiscrub through a pharmacy as i order it for a client of mine. Unless the hibiscrub might b not as strong for use with animals i dont know, but its worth a try if you cant for some reason get it through the vets. How is reggie doing anyway? poor thing he has been through so much, big hugs from me XXXXX

Thanks for letting me know that, i will have to ask the vet if it can be used on him as it will save us time and petrol money Very Happy

Reggie is doing well, his feet are realy starting to look better, his fur is starting to grown back on them. It's just his ears that are a mystery at the moment Confused
