Post subject: I seen a guy hittin his dog.... Reply with quote

i went out for my daily walk with my sister and i seen this guy shouting at his dog...i thought id just leave it as he looked weird so i walked on and i looked back and he was hitting his dog. i told my sister i couldnt leave him doing that so i had to go back (now that i was closer to him i seen that he was only a boy)and asked him what his dogs name was he told me Freddy. so i was clapping Freddy and he was wagging his tail looking all happy etc then the boy walked over to me and Freddy hid behind me. when Freddy went for a sniff i asked the boy what he thought he was doing he told me his dog nearly got knocked down and that his dog was being bad and i started shouting at him telling him to get the lead on Freddy and that i was taking him to the police station and he nearly started crying he was saying he didn't want to go and that he was sorry etc and i told him no he was going. so he went to get Freddy and a neighbor came along with her dog and she told me he is good with his dog etc
i told him if he ever done anything like that again i was going to the police without a doubt.
the boy said sorry and that he done it out of shock. i remember i took Calvin out a walk and he chased a cat and nearly got knocked down and i was shouting at him out of shock but i could never hit him.

i think the boy will listen to me and i do believe he done it out of shock.

was i right to leave him or should i have rung the police? i cant help thinking ive done the wrong thing and let him off easy.

You have probably made him realise that what he did was wrong just by threatening to take him down to the police station. The police IMO are useless anyway, they hit a staffie near where i live a while ago whilst on a call and just left it in the middle of the road ( completley sick if you ask me) so if they are the same by you then they wouldn't of done anything. Best thing to do is make a note of it and if you happen to see him doing it again then try the R.S.P.C.A

Good on you though for giving him what for Wink
