Hi ive had my cockatiel Dexter now for about three weeks and he still wont get on my finger or eat out of my hand. Hey there,sorry to say but all animals and birds are different as to how long they will take to become tame. Its not a process you can rush,ive learnt that with all the animals ive had. My syrian hammy ive got took me about a month to tame him,my budgies i had 1 of them took 5/6 weeks to tame and the other took nearly 3 months before he was tame. My bros cockatiel he had was hand reared,so she was semi tame when he got her,but it still took him 6 weeks ish to tame her.
I understand your frustration because you want to be able to let him out and have a good fly around,but just be patient,it will happen
