I re-homed florence, tellulah and evil edna back in april. I have spent time trying to tame them, but have not managed to get anywhere. I am worried because i would love to be able to handle them, but they only bite or at least try to bite me if i go anywhere near them. Any suggestions as to where i can go from here with the girls?

With Reggie my chinchilla it was a case of letting him out in the bathroom and me sitting on the bathroom floor and just letting him come to me of his own accord. I would let him bounce on me and sit there for a while before i tried to stroke him just to earn his trust. It took a few weeks of doing this but it payed off.

With my others chinchillas i used to wear thick gloves to pick them up with as they were rather nasty when i first had them. Thye soon learnt that it wasnt tasty to try and chew them and eventualy gave up, they now let me pick them up and handle them whenever i want. All apart from Archie that is Laughing
