i have recently joined pet chat and found it to be a very interesting site.
my name is Diane i live near gt yarmouth on the east coast. i have 5 dogs 2 cats & 2 lovebirds, most are rescued some with health problems, here is a a little about them
Lucy is a12 year old lurcher we adopted her when she was 1 year old from wood green animal rescue. she has had 2 cruciate ligament repairs to her hind legs when she was 3 years old, been very well until she got a problem called SLO its a kind of auto immune disease where her body was producing antibodies that attacked her nail as a result all her nails fell off & it was painful for her for some time and it was difficult for her to walk, she is ok at the moment and she is a real sweetie, quite old for a lurcher now but her mind is still sharp..
Pepsi is a 10 year old crossbreed, my daughter bought her home as a 7 week old pup from a home that were constantly interbreeding related dogs as a result Pepsi has had numerous health issue during her life, she has thin bones in her legs, she doesn't have proper knee joints in her rear legs and an overshot jaw, she has a permanent smile !!,recently she has been diagnosed with an auto immune disease, and it has been a bit sressful over the last few weeks but she is holding her own i have posted about her problem in health section of the forum
Sooty is a 12 year old poodle cross quite a character a bit stroppy at times
and highly strung, when he has been a bit naughty he manages to get round us with a big smile!! he too was adopted from wood green when he was 3
Tessa 4 year old jack russell terrier like most jack russell's she has a big personality despite her small size but very sweet natured
Ziggy 3 year old jack russell terrier named ziggy because he has lovely black zig zag marking all down his back . he is quite a handful gets on great with his own 'pack', but dislikes other dogs , bikes postmen and many other things. quite challenging, but is a loveable rogue!!
Molly 5 year old grey tabby moggy, we got molly along with her brother Perry from a free to good home advert, we knew that she may have problems as she was exceptionally small compared to her brothers & sister and felt sorry for her, she is now only the size of a 6 month old kitten she is almost blind, and has a problem with her bone marrow, and has liver problems, at one point she was not expected to last the night, but our vet was brilliant and she pulled through shes a little trooper, she is very lively & happy & not iin any pain she is not expected to live into double figures, and her illness is progressive but every day is a bonus.
Perry 5 year old big ginger moggy, molly's brother. a great charscter big and ver lazy, likes his belly rubbed my son said we should have named him garfield
and finally we have 2 lovebirds, toatally devoted to each other, they tell the dog off occasionally
i don't have big family , my pets are very important to me as you can imagine i do a fair amount of walking a day
i look forward to using the forums ,the pet photos on here are adorable
bye for now Dianexxx
