Thanks for the welcome
It just worked out that way Samba, I've had both yellow and black labs and black is my first choice. My current one is called Jazz and he's two. I'd never owned a cat till my then boss's cat had a litter - and... well... I admit I'm more of a doggy person, but Dundee has really won a place in my heart - he's 12.
Black means that I can wear black easily - if I wear white ........
Although both have a few white hairs on their chests.
Jenny
pollaton - I confess - I don't own a camera, but will try to get some |

Hi Jenny
I'm Catmad and mad about Cats! (I have two). How does your dog and cat get on? Mine hate dogs and are terribly afraid of them, but I guess that's to be expected seeing as tho they live in a block of flats that doesn't allow dogs! If they just see one from the window they puff themselves up and get themselves into a state. |

Hi Zoe and Catmad
Yes they get on fine - although not bosum buddies, I've known them to curl up on the bed together. Dundee is definately the boss though. I think it's down to how you introduce them - they then get used to each other. |

The funniest thing is when I add some tuna or sardines to Jazz's meal and Dundee comes along to have a bite (Jazz is not allowed it till told). He sits there looking mortified that his dinner is being eaten but as he considers Dundee higher in the pack, would not dare push him out.
I have to say though, Jazz it's only Dundee that he looks on as a mate, he would probably chase other cats given a chance (he's trained not to).
And I suspect Dundee would probably give other dogs a wide berth. |

My sasha who is a rottweiler is the same as your jazz lol if jess my black and white cat is eating her dinner she will sit their patiently to see if he has left anything as she is sooo scraed of him jess is definitely the boss in my house over all the animals even me at times, sasha will walk over all excited wanting to kiss him and jess will only have to look at her and she knows its not time to be affectionate and turns her attentions to cleo who gets a lovely bath of kisses until cleo lifts her paw up to say enough which i think is lovely and we often have a laugh and a giggle at them.
My cats and dogs have always got on lovely they are often found curled up together asleep i will try to get a pic although every time i get the camera out i think they all know and move sharply i have woke up a number of times to find both cats and sasha curled up on my bed sleeping soundly.
People are amazed at how well my animals get on and i have to admit i am so proud of them |

OMG guys LOL - a tiny cat that's looked upon as higher in the pack by a big dog! And Dundee actually PUSHES Jazz out the way!! Its too sweet, and funny!! I love it. Animals and their intent hierachy! Maybe when I have a house one day I'll be brave and get a puppy - it'll be interesting to see how things work out with my two!! |

| i'd love a cat again, but fear wilsons reaction. he is fine with other dogs...but gets very excited so due to his size could hurt a cat unitentionally. |
