Introducing our new kitten Elsa, she is a Maine Coon cross Brittish Shorthair, a nice colour (seal lynx tabby) and is a doll. Shes had a few problems, but they are getting sorted. She loves the dogs and is a gorgeous wee kit. When shes older i plan on letting her have 1 litter, the kittens would be very well received as i have a 'waiting list' so to speak for her kittens, he sutor shall be a nice lilac point siamese, so would have intersting kits lol
Elsa came from a poor, poor breed. The person was a disgrace, no medical or social attention paid to the kittens whatsoever, poor we darlings.
So here are some pictures Very Happy

hi luke, she is a darling, but i would really advise against you breeding fron her as she is a cross already and if she is from someone who hasn't cared for her then she may have problems in her genetics. also if you breed her with a siamese then that is making her more of a moggy. (not that there is anything wrong with moggies,) but there are a million and one in sancturies all over the country. so why not advise the people that are waiting for kittens off you to go to the local shelter and adopt an unwanted kitten instead.

(don't mean to offend but this is something i feel very strongly about)

Fair enough Pollaton, with homes lined up i cant see a problem, but maybe thats just me.
A problem i have though, and i know many who are intersted in Elsa's prospective kittens have , if rescues are so desperate to rehome then why do they, for example, allow someone to rehome a cat from their centre, just because they have terriers, even though the terriers are plainly used to cats?
There are plenty of good homes out there for rescues, IMO and i know on many other forums ppl think the same, some rehoming centres policy's are garbage. They have ridculous things set in place, i was told when we tried to adopt a Burmese from a local CP an dthey said no as we had terriers who are natural cat killers, even thought we had a cat sitting in the same room as these so called cat killers.

She is just such a darling. I want her. Luckily she looks healthy enough.

No one is telling you what you should do, just voicing concerns. It's your decision in the end.

What an extraordinary reaction. Surprised Surely, if you make a statement that is the opposite of generally accepted views on a subject, then you should expect a response, whether in favour or not. You are not the only one entitled to their own views, and nobody who has replied has been impolite.
After all, with many members there is bound to be disagreement on many topics. That's what makes it more interesting.

I actually think it is sound advice that the people on this forum have given you and was given in good faith.

While there is any chance of any defects happening breeding should be avoided for the sake of the kittens.

Yes the decision lies with you but it's a big responsibility.
