Fifi (formerly Buttons) is a one and half year old Yorkie adopted by someone I know from the RSPCA. In her short life, she has already had 3 homes and this is her fourth! I dog sit her twice a week and realise she has a lot of issues. First one and the most important one is that of peeing in the house. She goes for her walks and it can be as long as an hour, but as soon as she comes through the door she pees in the house. She has been peeing in my house regularly. Today on the armchair and on my daschund's bed. The two get along on and off and play a funny game of tag where Pani (the Daschund) waddles around her like a penguin and Fifi just jumps about and squeals, what I gather is out of excitement. Her second issue is seperation anxiety. She gets agitated and growly if left even for 10 mins. She has recently been spayed but her nutty nature continues. I dont want her getting rehomed again. I would like some advice on the two main issues please if someone could help. I would really appreciate some advice on this. Thanks very much.

Firstly well done to your friend for adopting a rescue dog.
Peeing in the house and seperation anxiety is to be expected from an insecure dog who perhaps has been given the role of top dog in a house.
Firstly, is it only your house she is peeing in or does she pee at home? If its just in your home then its a way of 'calling' her pack to her (scent marking), particularly as she is probably top dog in her home.
She is also displaying dominant behaviour with your dogs.
I wrote an article for petchat on how to take back the leadership
Really this needs to be started in her own home and continued by you in your home.
