| When Clementine was little we had her neutered, i regret it now though, as i would have liked her to have kittens. Did i do the right thing to have her neutered? I feel incredibly guilty now. |

In my opinion cats should all be neutered unless they are part of a PLANNED breeding programme, I was told many times that cats, if entire, are "designed" to be mated fairly regularly to prevent various health problems (unlike a dog) so if you had one litter you would have had to neuter her anyway afterwards unless you intended bringing dozens of kittens into the world.
And of course, there are thousands of unwanted kittens every year in the rescue centres.
In my opinion you did the right thing and I am sure she is happy so.

| she is a lot happier, as she does not call any more. She doesnt feel like she has to attract male cats so therefore she is more happy at home |

Hi Lu1, please dont feel guilty about neutering Clementine because she will be much healthier and stand huge less risk from mammery and other associated cancers.
Also we have to remember animals dont have human urges to procreate!you have taken a very responsible decision which i applaud..well done |

W didn't have our previous dog castrated and he got a tumor under his tail that the vet said was because he hadn't had the op so we had Oscar done and he's fine. I think it does make them happier and healthier if you don't intend to breed from them that is.
I know you were talking about a cat but the principle the same.

OMG YES, you did totally the right thing, there are so many unwanted cats out there all need loving homes, two of mine were rescue cats, I am feeling guilty for letting my youngest GET pregnant!! My son let her out, he is only three bless him, I stupidly forgot to lock the door!!! I am lucky I know where all the babies are going, but can you imagine letting a kitten go only to find out later down the line it was being neglected, I couldnt live with that. You did what a responsible owner should, be proud of that. |

Denfintely, creating another litter of kittens would have benefitted no one, there are way too many! Plus, unneutered are more likey to runaway and get preggie to any old tom cat, be hormonal etc. So kudos to you for doing the responsible thing! Have no regrets! |

| Yes I think you definatley did the right thing. Your cat will know no difference they dont think or have emotions like us humans. Please dont feel guilty, the urge isnt how we perceive it as. |
