| Post subject: How could they leave her? |
 |
|
Last night my three year old cat was hit by a car, she wasn't killed but my neighbour heard the thump and so we are fairly sure that the driver must have been aware that they had hit an animal and yet they didn't stop to help her. At ten to eleven last nigh my fourteen year old neighbour phoned me to let me know that there was a cat making alot of noise in her neighbours front garden and she was concerned that my cat had been injured after hearing the thump. I ran down the road and found Toffee (a cat that lives across the road) howling and making as much noise as possible to attact attention to the bushes. I used a torch and looked in and saw my cat Phoebe lying in the bush. Assuming that she had simply been fighting and got in a bit of a strop I reached in and moved her out, immediately she made a fuss and it became obvious that she was hurt. I took her home and placed her on the floor and she could barely move and was clearly in alot of pain so me, my dad and the neighbour that called me all took her to our nearest PDSA emergency vets. She had two dislocated legs and a shattered pelvis and was in a bad way. We bought her home and I spent the night comforting her before she went to the vets this morning where she is currently undergoing treatment.
I truly cannot understand how anyone could hit an animal and not stop to check if they were ok, if my friend hadn't been smart and phoned me then Phoebe could still be lying in those bushes in agonising pain after having dragged herself away from the road. I wish I could find that driver and put him through the pain that he has inflicted upon my Phoebe and then maybe he'd check the condition of any animals before driving off in future. |

awww i hope she recovers well! The same thing happened to my old cat nemo only he was dead when we found him
Sadly we hit a cat last year we stopped straight away and searched everywhere for it (this was at midnight) and luckily we found her so we rushed her straight to the vets and she is now recovered.
I could never just leave a cat to die, i dont know how people do it ____________

I hope she makes a full recovery. I actually witnessed a cat being run over, I was driving in the opposite direction and stopped to pick the cat up as it was in the middle of the road but the driver who hit him carried on (I held up all the traffic lol!) However, the driver must have felt guilty because he stopped way down the road and it turns out it was his neighbours cat. So I rushed the cat off to the vet and the bloke followed behind. However, he didn't have the guts to tell his neighbour it was him who ran the cat over! Fortunately the cat had no serious injuries other than biting through his toongue!
