Hi guys , my dog Cassy had eight pups 3 weeks ago , the pups are great , Cassys being a great mum , shes eating like a horse but shes as thin as a rake ,that's what I'm worried about , is this normal because shes eating for nine , or should i consult my vet

Heres a wee pic of her and her pups , hope the pics not to big

That was 2 weeks ago , shes a lot thinner now

Aww they are so cute. It is quite normal for the mother to lose weight while she has puppies...but make sure there is a plentiful supply of food available for her. She will need good nourishment what with nursing that number of puppies. Good luck Smile

What are you feeding her? You feeding any puppymilk formulas? That could help build her up, a tub of lactol is something I'd recommend! Smile

Welcome to the forum btw and congrats with the litter! Very Happy
