To be honest if you aren't sure if you can breed a dumbo rat with a 'normal' rat I think you need to spend a lot more time researching as thats a pretty basic question.

Have you thought what you will do with upto 26 pups or if mum dies giving birth? Are the parents pedigree rats or from your local store? If not from a pedigree breeder how can you possibly know their genetics and ensure you won't end up with kits with severe mutations which can occur with certain genetic combinations.

Are you a member of www.fancy-rats.co.uk? If not, I suggest you join the forum and get advice as I'm no expert on rat breeding.

I dont think you really have done very much research at all, if you are asking that question lol. I dont think anyone who dose soo little research into the pet that they own should even consider breeding.
